UNDERSTANDING CONTAINER CONDITION
Shipping Containers are sold as either new or used. New Containers have made a single trip across an ocean. Although technically used, they are in like-new condition. There are several categories for used Containers depending on their condition. Cargo Worthy (CW) and Wind & Water Tight (WWT) Containers are the most common used Containers on the market, with CW Containers showing less wear than WWT Containers.
At STORAGE PLUS CONTAINERS, all of our used Containers are Cargo Worthy Containers.
NEW (Single Trip) Shipping Containers
Structure
Structurally sound with perfect beams, frames, and corner posts.
Exterior
Minimal dents or scratches. Original paint. No, or very minor repair work.
Interior
Completely sealed with no daylight visible when closed. Minimal scratches, dents, or stains on walls.
Floor
Little to no scratches. No stains or only minor stains.
Used CARGO WORTHY Shipping Containers
Structure
Visible rust acceptable. Frames, beams, and corner posts in good condition. Meets international shipping standards.
Exterior
Minor rust and dents. May have been repaired. Possible scratches and paint touch-ups. Properly functioning and sealed doors.
Interior
Scuffing, scratching, minor surface rust may be present. No holes in roof, walls, or doors.
Floor
Minor delamination or stains may be present. Stable and secure for cargo.
Used WIND & WATER TIGHT Shipping Containers
Structure
Likely undergone multiple repairs. Obvious signs of wear and tear. May have damage requiring further repair.
Exterior
Extensive markings, corrosion, scratches, and major rust. No holes.
Interior
Sealed against wind and water. Extensive scratches/dents and rust.
Floor
Moderate delamination. Significant wear.
